Polartec GEN III ECWCS USA Level 1
The ECWCS Gen III Level 1 thermal jacket is the first, basic layer in the concept of the third-generation ECWCS layered clothing system, which has been actively used by the US Army since Afghanistan in late 2006. At the moment, the ECWCS Gen III system consists of 7 layers of clothing with a total weight of about 6 kg, which provides the soldier with maximum comfort in various climatic conditions at temperatures from -40 to +16 ℃. The main purpose of the base layer of thermal underwear is to effectively remove sweat and moisture from the body during intense physical activity. For this purpose, the US Army has opted for the thin and smooth Polartec ®Power Dry® Silkweight - a perfectly ventilated two-component material that, thanks to the capillary effect, absorbs moisture from the inside and distributes it over the surface for the fastest possible evaporation, allowing the body to stay dry at all times. It dries 2 times faster than natural cotton. In addition, the threads of Polartec ®Power Dry® fabric are treated with silver ions using Odor Resistant® technology, which guarantees reliable antibacterial protection and prevents the appearance of unpleasant odors from clothing. Another distinctive feature of Polartec ®Power Dry® is its almost 100% UV protection (it has a UPF50+ index), which allows this material to be used for long and safe sun exposure. Composition: 100% Polyester with a density of 125 g/m². The material is completely hypoallergenic. Features: Flat, reinforced seams that do not cause discomfort when worn; An additional thumb hole on the sleeve, which makes it easier to put on additional layers of clothing (for example, ECWCS Gen 3 Level 2) and can protect the back of the hand from wind or cold; An elongated raglan back that protects the lower back from cold and wind when squatting or lifting arms; Wide elastic waistband on the pants, which ensures a snug fit of the raglan to the body Machine washable, does not lose its properties and shape even after repeated washing It can be used both independently and in combination with other layers of the ECWCS Gen3 system not only in warm weather, but all year round The original ECWCS Gen III Level 1 Polartec ®Power Dry® thermal jacket performs its functions not only as part of army equipment, but is also ideal for use in mountaineering, trekking, hunting, fishing, camping and hiking.
