Forage Fish: The Energy of the Salish Sea by Aby Elwood, Educator
Canada's aquarium and cultural centre for the Salish Sea located in Sidney in Greater Victoria, BC. The Centre is the only aquarium in Greater Victoria: a must-see Vancouver Island tourist attraction and educational experience for children and people of all ages.
The Centre displays over 3,500 live marine animals, a marine mammal artifact exhibit, a Coast Salish art display, and a Salish Sea Store. The mission of the Centre is to create experiences that engage people to learn about, explore and conserve the Salish Sea Bioregion – its wildlife, waters, land, culture, and people.
A unique non-profit organization, the Centre combines live aquarium habitats and marine mammal artifact displays (science & nature) with a permanent Coast Salish art collection (arts & culture), to provide an amazing opportunity for learning, exploration, and conservation of the natural beauty, ecological diversity, and cultural story of the Salish Sea.
