The Knit Foot (also known as: Tricot Foot) makes sewing knit or other stretchy fabric easier. It is a specialty presser foot that helps to prevent puckering, thread skipping, and thread breakage. It’s a wonderful foot to have around for sewing T-shirts, knits, and other stretch fabrics. With the Knit Foot, you can make your hems and seams smooth and professional looking. The Knit Foot is designed to hold the fabric down firmly while the needle pierces the fabric, and then lets up on the fabric as the feed dogs rise and carry the fabric along for the next stitch. The Knit Foot basically pinches the layers of fabric together to ensure there is no slipping when you sew and then  jumps over the fabric to allow it to move forward.
